Our purpose is to extend public education and awareness regarding abuse and neglect. In 2007, CRT placed several
hundred Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes in approved homes. CRT requires an
application, vet check, reference check and home visit for each
adopter.
CRT does not warehouse dogs in
a shelter. As in most rescue groups, our dogs are cared for in healthy,
safe, loving foster home environments. CRT foster parents work very hard
to be sure that their foster dog feels safe and loved while working on
housetraining, crate training, socialization, etc. All our dogs are
spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped,
on heartworm
preventative and have all other veterinary needs taken care of (such as
heartworm treatment, dentals, luxating patellas, etc.) CRT is known, and
has always been known, for taking the injured, infirm and elderly Chihuahuas and
Chihuahua mixes. Please consider the adoption of one of these dogs as
well. Seniors and special needs dogs make great pets too!
For more
information about our adoption process, please go to our adoption process page.
To view our available dogs, go to "Dogs
Available For Adoption" or use the menu to the left. For more
history on CRT, please visit here.
Please browse our site to see Chihuahuas currently up for adoption and also
lots of neat Chihuahua merchandise!

CRT gets a penny for every search you do!

We were awarded the "Dog Rescue Award" for 2007
by
Just
Dog Breeds. To win the award, an
organization must be a rescuer of an AKC registered breed, ensure the dogs are spayed or neutered
before placement, and place the dogs with compatible owners. A big thanks to
